About the Founder

Michael S. Womack, Ed.S. USN/USMC/FMF-8404

US Veterans Wounded Wing Project Inc. is a Veteran centered aviation focused organization founded by Michael S. Womack in June, 2023.

Mr. Womack is a 100% service connected disabled veteran, combat veteran of the Gulf War and former school administrator that lives in Blairsville Georgia. Mr. Womack has been married for 32 years to Kimberly J (Dyer) Womack, an elementary educator, and they have two adult children, Shana R. Womack, a teacher in Gainesville City Schools and David M. Womack a US Marine serving as a Combat Engineer stationed at Camp Pendleton California.

Mr. Womack was a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman graduating from the Naval School of Health Sciences in San Diego and Field Medical Service School at Camp Pendleton California. He served with 1st Bn 11th Marines (Gulf War), 3rd Bn 14th Marines, 1st Bn 2nd Marines, 2nd Bn 2nd Marines and a short tour at Naval Air Station Jacksonville Florida as a Military EMT and Search and Rescue.

Mr. Womack has always had a passion for aviation and has been a member of the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) since 2010. Mr. Womack has a Bachelors of Arts, Masters of Education and Education Specialist degrees in Education and has served as a high school science teacher, middle school history teacher, middle grades assistant principal, high school assistant principal and primary school principal.

His passion is to help veterans with PTSD, anxiety, depression and MST through aviation focused projects, building aircraft and obtaining their Light Sport Pilots license.
